I finally did the right thing!!
I was driving along a 1 way street and there were some kids in bathing suits who ran into the street, just next to the curb. I slowed down to about 5 mph. Then I heard a big bang and a splash and I knew someone hit my car with something. I looked to the sidewalk but I couldn't see who hit me with what. I stopped and opened my car door, trying to look back and see, and I asked the little kids in the street what it was (since I know they didnt throw it) and they said it was a water balloon. The kid(s) who did throw it had already started running the opposite way down the street.
There were a ton of people/moms on the street who saw the whole thing, all just staring with their mouths open wide. I just closed my door and drove on. I was fighting with every cell of my hormone jacked body to not turn around and look for those kids since I was in a horrible neighborhood. But I'm soo proud of myself for keeping my temper in check! Its amazing what the fear of getting shot will do for ya!
When I parked, I checked the side of the car, there was no damage, tg!
What would you have done in this situation? Just curious

Probably nothing until I was somewhere safer and all I would have done was check to see if there was any damage to my car.

I would have done the same as you, but checked my car right there and then. If there had been damage, I would have called the cops to write a report.

Re: I finally did the right thing!!
I would've kept driving- especially in a bad neighborhood. A water balloon isn't worth putting myself in danger.
Many kids these days have no respect for anything
I was driving down a side street a few years ago in a decent neighborhood when I saw one of these things in the middle of the road:

I approached slowly and as I drove around- it jumped up and sprang towards my car.
1- It scared the crap out of me 2- I could've reacted by swerving and hitting someone else 3- I could've hit the kid!
I was so angry that I opened my window and said "That's not very smart- someone could get killed"
The kid and his friends (who had been hiding in the bushes) laughed hysterically and called me an a**hole, dumba** and stupid.
I have no tolerance for stupidity.
Sorry for the sidebar- you just reminded me of that incident

Re: I finally did the right thing!!
in a bed neighborhood - I would probably do what you did.
When I was 7/8 I was just sitting on the curb and had a twig that I broke into little pieces and was "throwing" them when a car passed. Seriously the thing weighted less than an ounce. Well a car stopped and freaked the crap out of me. I never did that again!
