I feel so dumb asking this, but regarding labeling things
DS is going into 1st grade and he still needed multiply of things. Do I label everything including pencils?
In K I labeled but I think it just pooled together.

My son's stuff was all pooled together in 1st grade too. I usually label everything, except pencils.

I felt like an idiot labeling EVERYTHING especially the thin markers!

I feel so dumb asking this, but regarding labeling things
I teach first. I pool glue, glue sticks and tissues, wipes. Scissors are also polled but are returned in June. Everything else is in their desks. Usually what is on the floor goes into the community bin, such as crayons, markers and pencils. Even if things are labled, the kids clean so they aren't looking to see if things are labled. Label the box, but not each market or Craton.

I label everything, each individual pencil, marker, etc. I don't individually label the crayons though, just the box. Cuts down on "lost" stuff. If the teacher finds the pencil on the floor, it goes back to my kid, and cuts down on the amount of crap I have to keep sending in.
