I feel so bad..
...I got a call from one of the parents at my day care that was sent home with a fever yesterday and it turns out the child has Fifths disease. I already know that I have the parvovirus B19 immunity so I told a girl who works for me who is also pregnant to call her Ob to see if she was tested. So it turns out they never did this test (which I was shocked that they didn't since she told them she works in day care) So they tell her it can slow or stop the growth in the baby, so the poor girl was hysterical and I had to send her home to get a blood test asap so she will know if she is immune or not. Then I looked it up on the CDC site and it is like a 5% chance of something happening in the first trimester she is in her third. I was so mad that the Ob freaked her out like that!!!

Unfortunately, sometimes doctors feel that they have to tell patients these things because if something happens, the dr. has to be able to say "well, I told you it was a chance." But, I agree with you, they should not have frightened her. she is going to be on pins and needles now until each sonogram
