I feel like such a fat azz....

I think I am going to buy my first pair of maternity jeans today.. at 7 1/2 weeks..Chat Icon

I have no idea why I need them so soon.. but, honestly I couldn't button them this morning and even with the bella band... they are soo uncomfortable. They are actually upsetting my stomach. I have a belly in the AM but, by night time.. OMG it looks like I am 5 months pg.

I will admit that I was on the higher end of my size 6's before the BFP and the progesterone is making my crazy bloated, and I am only 5 foot tall.. but, I feel like such a failure already. I think I am going to gain too much weight. I know gaining weight is a part of pregnancy and I will fully embrace that.. but, at 7 1/2 weeks!!! I feel like everyone is like raising thier eyebrows at me and thinking I am eating like a horse.
I don't know anyone who needed maternity pants THIS EARLY!!

Has anyone out there been in this situation?

ETA: I know this sounds so whiney.. I am just feeling so bad.. My throat hurts and I am gettting a bad cold. I have asthma and I am already coughing.. I am fearing bronchitis already! I just feel so crummy today!!

I started using maternity clothes early on too. You need ot be comfortable, that's the most important thing!

Aww. don't worry. Its probably just bloating. I had moments of bloating early in my pregnancy..especially at night. I've heard of people wearing maternity pants @ 7 weeks. I have to say I just started wearing maternity pants a couple of weeks ago and they are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. Everyone says that they don't even look like maternity. So be comfortable, don't feel like a failure, and have fun shopping.

The progesterone made me crazy bloated too. I started showing a little VERY early and then it leveled off and I still have a pretty small belly for 27 weeks. I stated with the maternity pants around 9 or 10 weeks.

I had a lot of bloating early on. I thought I looked very pregnant, especially after I ate. Of course, now that I'm very pregnant, I wasn't anywhere near as big as I thought. Chat Icon

I bought a few cheap pairs of pants 1 size up at the beginning b/c I didn't feel comfortable buying maternity pants so early on. I also got the bella band, which helped. Pants with a little bit of elastic in the waistband helped a lot too. I wouldn't worry about weight gain at all right now. Most of what you're experiencing is bloat, which almost everyone has at the beginning. The bloat should go away towards the end of your first trimester.

Who cares when you have to start wearing them. The important thing is that your comfortable. No one wants to walk around in pants all day that are pushing on their belly. Go to the store and buy a pair of pants. It will make you feel so much better! Chat Icon

I understand how you are feeling completely. I am 23 weeks now, and my stomach is not overly big. However, at 7 weeks, my stomach was almost as big as it is now. My mom commented on it, and I felt so crummy. Don't worry...it is probably just bloating. Do whatever you have to to feel comfortable.

I was the same way with my 1st and it seems this pregnancy is headed the same way...

Very bloated "puffy" in the begining, but I didnt actually "show" until about 6 months

Why do mom's do that? Mine does it to me and that is probably why I feel so crummy.

But I bought one pair this morning and I feel soo much better!!! They really look like regular pants too!

It doesn't matter when you have to buy them - the most important thing is that YOU are comfortable. Don't worry about anyone else - your comfort is the most important thing. The first few weeks are horrible for bloating.Chat Icon
