I ended up in Labor & Delivery: PSA & RAVE
Thank goodness, I am fine and so is the babes but I wanted to let you guys know what happened so you could possibly avoid it.
Wed night DH noticed that my feet were swollen, this hasn't been much of an issue for me yet, so I figured it was just how my body was handling being 34 wks. I had been on my feet for a bit so I brushed it off as nothing and sat down for a bit. I didnt pay any more attention to it the rest of the night so I honestly cant say if the swelling went down.
Thursday morning my feet looked swollen but nothing crazy. I have a box under my desk at work and I always keep my feet up. At about 12pm I just happened to look down at my feet and we shocked at how swollen they were. The right was especially bad, about 2xs the size of the left. I called my dr's office but they werent open till 3pm so I didnt leave a message and just decided to call back then.
3:30pm I call, my right foot is still HUGE and both are pinker than normal. My dr tells me to go to Good Sam, they need to do a scan of my legs. I was blown away b/c I thought he would just tell me to prop them up and drink more water. I get to the ER and they were awesome. They whisked me right up to L&D. The L&D ppl were beyond amazing, so sweet, kind and just all around phenomenal!
I was dead set against delivering at Good Sam, it had nothing to do w/the hospital but for personal family reasons. Due to a mix up w/my Dr and my insurance, I found out 2 wks ago that I had to deliver there and I was a mess. Well yesterday all those feelings vanished b/c I have never been treated so well in a medical establishment in my life.
They did a sono of both my legs and thank goodness there were no clots (my Dr was afraid of this) so I was sent home.
So thats the Rave and for the PSA....... Ladies, if you notice your appendages (any of them) are swollen more than usual, a different color or warm/hot to the touch. CALL YOUR DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY. Please don't wait like I did. If it had been a clot it could of been very serious and I could of put not only myself but my babes is danger.

Glad you're OK!
Did the swelling go down on its own? What they say to do about it?

So glad to hear everything is ok! And thanks for the tip-I'll make sure not to take any swelling that happens lightly.

Thanks! Yes, they had me hooked up to the IV and I got about a bag & 1/2 of fluid. I was there for a few hrs and they had me in a bed. The swelling did go down a lot. The nurse told me that my body probably needed to lie down for a bit and thats why the swelling went down.

so happy you don't have any clots ~ for someone who threw a dvt after my son ~ blood clots are very serious and shouldn't be taken lightly. (I walked around with my clot in my leg for a week ~ I am lucky to be alive and able to have baby #2)
So happy for you and your great experience at Good Sam!

oh wow!! did they measure your BP and test your urine for protein as well? swelling is one of the earlier warning signs of pre-eclampsia. sometimes it is the first sign, before the BP rises or the protein is spilled into the urine. glad you were treated so well.

Thanks, yup they were SUPER and checked everything. They took about 5 vials of blood and checked my urine.
