I cried today at BBB
For the first time ever I went into a real baby store. I have been reading about products but seeing things in person is different. I have been scared to go in bc I don't want to jinx anything plus I feel beyond stupid cause I know nothing about what babies really need. So not two minutes in the store do the tears start flowing and in my head I kept saying.... I want my mommy. Yep at 36 years old I guess I still miss her (my parents passed close together when I was 20). I know there are people who would help but its just not the same. I don't know how to be a mommy without a mom of my own. Oh myyyyyy these hormones!!!! Had to get this off my chest. Ty

You are not alone. I too lost my mom 9 years ago and I feel so silly having to rely on my younger sister to tell me what I need for baby.

I know it isn't the same but my mom is currently very sick with Stage 4 Lung and Brain Cancer. She is not able to help me either. This is my second and I am on bed rest. It is very difficult to be without her!

My mother passed away when I was 20 too. My dd is now 2 and I cry alot thinking that my mom never got to meet her. But know that your mom is looking down on you and smiling that your wish of becoming a mother is coming true.

I can relate. I lost my Dad just this past October. I was fortunate that he was there for my first pregnancy and my daughter who is 6 knows him well. It makes me sad that he isn't there for this baby. I like to think that they've already met, in heaven.
So many times I reach for the phone to ask him a question or tell him something. There are things we will always feel we need our parents for.

I'm so sorry! I *think* I can commiserate with you. I haven't had a relationship w/my mother in 7 years, not by my choice. I know its comparing apples to oranges but even though my mother is still alive, I don't have her here to help me.
I was in BBB over the weekend to buy the Baby Bargin's book. Like you, I was afraid of jinxing myself too but couldnt help myself. Anyway, while I was walking around, I saw a Mom and Daughter registering together. It hurt to see it and realize, once again, all of the experiences I am missing out on w/my mom.
I don't know what the answer is or, "how to make it better". Just know there are some of us here who, to some extent or another, feel your pain.
