I cant believe Im closing on Friday!
Happy but also sad to leave the city. Hopefully Ill like the burbs. I just feel like it happened so fast even though we looked for OVER A YEAR ha haa haaa. ANything I should know about the walk through and the closing. PS I need Long Island friends

Congrats! 
At the walk through, make sure you check behind things if the house isn't empty. If the house is empty, check to make sure the walls don't have big holes that you never saw before, check light fixtures (turn on and off), check outlets if you want (bring a night light), run the cold and hot water, flush the toilets......bascially make sure everything works. Oh and the stove and frig too.
The closing, bring your personal check book and make sure that you and DH have your license with you.
Lots of luck! Can't wait to see your new home. I hope you love the burbs.

Great advice! And lift up any area rugs left behind. We discovered that the one in front of the kitchen sink was covering a huge burn mark!!

what a great village!!!! my friend just closed about 3 weeks ago in g.c... u will b at roosevelt field mall a lot!!! enjoy the suburbs b/c it's a beautiful place... Im in Floral Park all the time....that's where i grew up (very close to garden city) ..ill be ur friend!!!
