I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

I keep being told I won't see any weight gain or changes till I'm in my 4-5th month. What gives?

I am super bloated. My stomach looks like it would if I were major pmsing.

I can feel a difference around my waist too. I am not eating too differently. I have been alittle bad and eating alittle more carbs this past week. Maybe that's why?

I am also filled with gas. Ugh, I just feel so gross right now. I had just gotten my body to where I wanted it to be and now I feel like I wanna try and lose a few pounds before I really start to show. I wish I didn't have to gain anything. :(

Ugh, super emmotional right now. Is this happening with anyone else?

Its hard when u see ur body start to change I will not lie. but keep in mind that the baby needs it.
I wouldn't suggest u intentionally try to loose weight since u are already preggo.
You just have to take the changes as they come.
Try to eat right and it tends to help with all the extra bloating and gas.

This early, it's very common to be bloated, and for it to be noticeable, unfortunately. For many women though, that bloat belly goes down after a few weeks- a while before the baby belly actually shows up. It is definitely NOT safe to diet while you are pregnant though, so please don't! As PP mentioned, as hard as it can be to watch your body changing, you have to remember the baby needs the extra pounds to live off of. Chat Icon

Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

and i know you probably already know but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't eat certain foods b/c you think you'll gain weight.

... I understand the emotion of it... I was super super skinny my whole life... I said b4 that no one knew I was pregnant until I was 7 months...

Well, I gained 65 pounds during my pregnancy. THATS how skinny I was...

get over it... you're having a baby and after this you'll probably look "healthier" if you're anything like me

BUT PLEASE don't let body issues get in the way of eating etc...

Who the heck told you that you wouldn't see any changes in your body until the 4th-5h month? That's nuts. I'm 18 weeks pregnant and have only gained 8 pounds so far, but I'm getting HUGE! It's not fat; it's the baby.

I started my pregnancy at a size 6. I was pretty thin and healthy. I'm still a Maternity size 6 (at 4 months) - my hips and butt and legs are the same size, but my belly and boobs are getting huge. Like they're supposed to! There's a baby the size of a mango in there, and my uterus is apparently bigger than a cantelope. Things get bigger. Fast. I was i maternity pants by week 11 or 12. I had to get new bras even earlier than that.

Just keep eating healthy and take care of yourself. Your body is going to do what it wants to and what your baby needs. And stop listening to weirdos who tell you that you shouldn't show until 5 months. Chat Icon

completely and totally normal. i was just feeling the same way you describe, a few weeks ago. now at 10w2d, i'm starting to need maternity pants. relax and allow yourself the carbs - they help, especiallyif you're experiencing nausea. i know it's frustrating to feel... just BLAH... but it's something we all (or most of us) go through. Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

I'm not sure who you are talking to about your weight gain but they are completely wrong.

You have ZERO control over how much weight your body gains and how it reacts to pregnancy. Please do not try to lose a few pounds. If your body is hungry you need to feed it. My first trimester I had to live on bagels or else I got sick. That was the only thing that mattered to me -- that I wasn't hugging the toilet 20 times a day and that I was able to take care of my son.

Pregnancy=weight gain. I don't care what people tell you - everyone gains differently. I am petite - everyone knew I was pregnant at 8 weeks. I always get a belly early.

It's going to be a very long nine months if you are so worried about this, weight gain is normal!!! Think about the baby growing in your belly and everything will be just fine. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

I had extreme bloat eArly on especially at night and have pictures from 7-8 weeks where I was about 3x bigger than I am now at 18w. My weight also fluctuated a lot early on due to constipation. Your body will change but everyone is different and just let your body do it's thing unless your doctor is concerned and tells you otherwise

Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

I feel a difference in my body too.. I see a bump, but I only gained about a pound (or so I think). I can't keep "real" food in me for the past week or so, and because of it, I eat crap and I think that more than anything is giving me a puffy and pudgy look. I'm tiny so any weight, even an 1/2 a lb shows on me.. and lets not even talk about gas..Chat Icon but my saving grace has been that I still continue to work out. I do 30 mins of elliptical or treadmill.. or atleast 20 mins of it every day just to unwind. Chat Icon

eta: I just saw Jasmine's post.. and I was constipated as well.. like crazy. But I'm doing a little better now, because all I eat is bran cereal.

Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

every person is different and pregnancy will be different for everyone -- just rembember that the changes are to help your baby grow. You can not go on a diet and not eat because you don't want to gain weight --- this is not good for the baby (or you).

In 9 months you will have a beautiful baby that's what you have to focus on!

I don't know who said that but of course you'll notice changes. I was very bloated early on and there was a definite change in my belly. My pants stopped fitting and I was in maternity at 14 weeks. The belly became more defined at around 16 weeks. Some people make no sense.

Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

Oh I just wanted to add that weight gain is necessary for a healthy pregnancy. You will gain. I understand feeling upset over it because in the beginning I had a really rough time accepting it. I was skinny my whole life and kept myself fit. It was really hard when I had zero control over my body. But trust me it gets easier especially when that bloat turns into an obvious baby bump!

Please don't ever diet or try to lose weight during pregnancy. Your body will gain what it needs to in order to sustain a healthy pregnancy. The thing that helps the most is to think about what an incredible journey this is. You are creating and sustaining a life other than your own. It really is incredible when you think about it. This is weight gain with a beautiful purpose and end result. Thinking of it like that may help. Worry about the weight after you give birth but for now try to enjoy your pregnancy; like the other girls said it will be a long nine months if you constantly worry about weight gain!

Re: I can definitely see a difference in my stomach and

Thank you all.

I am a size 6. Already around my waist my jeans are becoming snug.
It is really hard for me to see my body change.
I am going to have to accept these changes asap.
