I am worried, please help!

I went for my first 8 week sono yesterday. My cycles have always been very messed up, and my LMP was March 2. But, before that I had a 50 day cycle. I am very irregular and I knew the 8 weeks was based on an average normal cycle but when I went to the Dr. I measured 5 weeks 6 days! I saw a heartbeat too which was reassuring but I was upset that something was wrong. The Dr. told me that I must have miscalculated and that my cycles have always been wacky. She said she would be concerned if she saw an empty sac, etc. but that wasn't the case here. She told me to come back next weeek for more blood work to make sure my levels are going up and then again the following week for another sono. DH said he thought all was fine and didn't get a bad impression from the Dr. but I was concerned and scared. Please give me your take on this. ThanksChat Icon

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is wait. Take your pre natals, drink lots of water, relax and ask them to give you beta hcg's for the next few days. This will tell you if your hormone levels are going up as they are supposed to. Good luck!

I would try not to worry to much.. You said yourself your cycles have been wacky so its very possible that your dates are off..

I would call the dr back and tell her that you are so worried. A heartbeat is a great sign. You probably did miscalculate.

Re: I am worried, please help!

I wouldn't worry as long as the Dr. didn't seemed worried. The same thing happened to me. I had my first appt. on Tuesday and from my LMP they said I was 9w4d, but I only measured 7w4d (we saw the HB too ). Chat Icon
My cycles is also very irregular going from 30-70 days. My Dr. told me unless I was tracking when I ovulated it's impossible to tell from my LMP.
