I am Soooooo Infertile ...
that when someone tells me they were successful on their first IVF I don’t even consider them to have fertility issues
Today is just one of those days, sigh.

Re: I am Soooooo Infertile ...
I totally feel your pain.....my first IVF was such a disaster that it really doesn't give much hope to move on.....why does everything have to be such a struggle? I keep thinking what have I done to deserve this?

Same here. I've had to convince myself that most people aren't successful on the first IVF try, otherwise I don't know where I'd be But even with all the convincing there are still days I just cannot believe I went through all IVF entails and came out on the other end with no baby, no pregnancy. I just cannot understand how that happens.
So whatever small consolation it is just know you're not alone.

Re: I am Soooooo Infertile ...
I understand your pain and sadness, but I just wanted to kind of give you another point of view.
I did get pregnant from my first IVF attempt. But for years before that, I had to deal with 2 surgeries for endometriosis, ruptured cysts, induced menopause for months as a teenager, never having sex with DH because it was excrutiatingly painful, a year of TTCing, a miscarriage, a year of heartache & depression and more failed TTC'ing, learning I had MTHFR, Hypothyroidism and PCOS in addition to endometriosis, Clomid, IUI that caused extreme OHSS, a cancelled IVF cycle and eventually, a success. Even my pregnancy was difficult because of all of my issues. I hemmoraged at 6 weeks due to a very large blood clot around DD and had to be on bedrest. I was on a strict policy of barely being allowed to move throughout my first and second trimesters and a few other problems.
I would never tell you not to feel the way you do, because i've been in your shoes. But we all struggled, whether for one IVF cycle or 6. Just because some get pregnant on their first attempt doesn't mean they suffered less or didn't suffer for a long time before that. I pray for all of you every single day that your time will come soon.

Actually i think there is a big difference between one and six IVFs and i also think its different when you cross the other side and actually HAVE a child. Compared to women who STILL do not know if they will EVER have children. But i will respectfully agree to disagree. Sometimes i use this board for venting, i didnt mean to play who suffered more with anyone.

Re: I am Soooooo Infertile ...
I have used this board as venting too. My point was not to say there is no difference, which I didn't say, but just that fertility issues are fertility issues, whether they are resolved sooner or later. It's ALWAYS a struggle for those who are dealt the unfortunate hand. I didn't intend to downplay your emotions. Like I said, i've been there and know what the pain is like. I just wanted you to know that it's not as 'easy' as it seems and just because I have finally had success, doesn't mean I didn't struggle to get here and can't empathize with you.
I don't know. I'm on your side. I was just trying to help.

Re: I am Soooooo Infertile ...
First, Also, I just wanted to jump in and say, it's so relative. A person could have fertility issues and have it resolved on one round of clomid and timed intercourse... someone else could go through multiple IVFs/FETs.. use donor eggs, etc. Obviously you know what I'm getting at here. Everyone's road is just so unique for a whole slue of reasons.
I know what you mean about looking at other people's journey in relation to your own and thinking they had it so easy, when in reality, they didn't. There will always be someone who tried longer, went through more drs, more meds, had a loss at a later time, etc.
All along this journey, I met people who (by textbook standards) you could say had it "worse" and perhaps to them, what I went through was peanuts- because I got pregnant through just IUI when perhaps for them it took IVF.. and my loss was at 17.5wks when perhaps for them it was much later... It's sometimes hard not to compare, in some sense.
... but one thing we all share in common is we all struggled for a common goal and are stronger women because of it.
Oh and .. gotta end off this response with some more of these because I had one of those days too.

This was very honest and brave of you to share such a raw emotion.
We're all here to pick you up on bad days and when that good day comes (and we KNOW it will) we'll be here to rejoice with you. HOPE TODAY IS A GOOD DAY!
