I am LIVID!!!! *Update*
Update 10/6- She called this morning to let me know my records are ready to be picked up. Glad I didnt have to call her to remind her!
Thanks girls for letting me vent
I called Kim @ Dr B office 3 weeks ago to get my medical records sent over to my new Dr. She told me they send it to the patient house & that she would mail directly to me.
I called her 3 times after that to remind her to pls send them since my appt was coming up.
Yesterday I called to get an update & she says she sent them LAST week & that I should have gotten them!
She sent them regular mail no return reciept..NOTHING!!! ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION IS IN THAT ENVELOPE!
I called her freaking out like any other person would & she made it sound like i did something wrong?! relally?
I told her I would come pick them up myself & asked her to make copies.
She then tells me to call her tomorrow to REMIND her to copy them. Like this is MY JOB!!
I am so livid I dont even know what to do w/myself. If they got lost, the Dr office is liable for them.
My DH says that she probably didnt even send them in the first place & didnt want to tell me that she forgot. I pray to God that this is the case instead of them getting lost in the mail.
Sorry for the long vent but I just needed to get it out. I feel like crying! I am already under enough stress!

Oh no, that is awful. I real do hope that she just forgot and was afraid to say something. I know that doesn't make it better, but at least your medical info is not floating around. So sorry you have to add this to your plate

I would have more peace of mind if she just told me she forgot instead of making excuses.
Now I am going to have this in my head that my personal information is floating around somewhere. KWIM?

That's weird, I asked her to send or fax my file to my new Doctor 2 weeks ago and she said they wouldn't get there in time and that she'd give to me in the office, so I picked them up last week.
She also said for me to keep a copy because it is really hard to pull all the information up again, and they were crappy copies too, some pages were super light and I couldn't read them.
Maybe that means they really never were sent out then? In your case I hope so!

I agree, I would be less upset if she would just be upfront and say if she forgot to send them.

I just didnt appreciate how she was making it seem like I was the one who did something wrong.
I have never heard of a Dr office NOT sending something to another Dr office!

Come to think about it, that is odd. My Obgyn's office, can only send hard copies of records to anither doctors office, something to do with a hippa law.

that is the reason why when I initially requested them, I gave my new Dr's info. They probably say they dont do that b/c it requires them ACTUALLY HAVING TO DO IT!!!!!!

I have had doctors send my files to me. I always had to sign a release as well. For some reason I always had an issue when I wanted it sent directly to another doctor.

I would have to guess they were never sent.
I asked for my records to be sent to at least 4 times and they never did it. I finally was goign to go get them but found out I was PG so I nver received them.
My advise is to just go pick them up.

I REALLY hope you girls are right & that they were never sent out! I would FREAK if they really did get lost in the mail!

That is ridiculous that she treated you that way. I would be upset, too.
I would assume she nevet sent them and go pick them up. Good luck with your new RE!!
