I am in L&D=scary
I am in L&D. Monday night I wasnt feeling well and when they checked my pulse it was 150. The baby's HR was btw 180-190 which she has done before but then my pulse went to 177 with a temp of 103 and the baby was staying around 200 HR. I just remember them wheeling me down stairs where they hooked me up to the monitor and put ice under my armpits, my neck and groin. They also had me lay backless on an ice blanket to bring my temp down. They had a room prepped for emergency C-section and everything. My doctor stayed with me for 5 hours until my fever broke, baby HR went down and I fell asleep. They removed my TPN line becuase they suspect infection so for the past two days we have been living on vitamins, saline and two antibiotics via IV. We are doing ok so thats the best news. Dr. Klein did a BPP and baby is very active. So if all my docs are ok, I am ok. I am eager to go back to my room though since my daughter will have a tough time visiting in L &D but I guess we will make it through.

Sorry to hear you have to keep going thru all of this.
I signed a C-section consent form so if anything else happens they will deliver earlier.

OMG!!! I'm glad you're stable and hope it goes well. I can't wait for you to deliver a nice healthy little girl - this is too much for one person to go though!! Hang in there!

I am sorry you are having such a tough time. You are very strong and so is that baby of yours. You will get through this and before you know it, you will be holding your healthy, beautiful baby.

Now that the TPN is removed you cannot eat at all? I thought you were able to eat?
Hope time flies and she is out soon and healthy!

OMG, that's so scary, i'm so sorry. i know how scary being in L&D can be, i can't imagine being there with a raging infection. luckily it sounds like all is clear now that your access has been removed. how long before they replace it, or will they not at this point? are you able to take food by mouth at all?

I used to be able to eat a couple of bites of mashed potatos with gravy then she moved up high and makes me throw up. Hope she drops soon but for now all I have is broth-my accuchecks are coming back in the 60-70 range so I may end up with another line/infusaport on my right chest wall if the culture grows bacteria, worst case scenario is a pic line but I will get something soon. The said she is doing ok so I am trying not to flip out.
