Hysteroscopy with former RE
Does anyone know if a former RE would do a hysteroscopy if needed? I had a saline sono with an incompetent new OB/GYN due to sudden heavy bleeding and and it is believed part of a fibroid is in uterine cavity. I have done fertility treatment but decided to just try on my own with DH now. I would like to follow up on this and if needed, have a hysteroscopy and would be more comfortable with one of my former REs rather than what I just went through with the OB. Will REs see you for this if you are trying on your own or will they just treat you if you are going to do fertility treatment?

Re: Hysteroscopy with former RE
I would go back to the RE to get them to check things out.
I actually had a similar situation, where I had to go to my old RE to get a saline sonogram, but I am under the care of a new RE. The reason I had to go to the old one was because I live 3+ hours away from my new place and could not justify taking the entire day off for a 5-10 minute procedure.

The thing is, I have decided to stop treatment, so not sure if an RE would take me on for this.

Re: Hysteroscopy with former RE
I think your RE would do it. It is not like you are going to a new RE. Just let them know that your gyno found something and that you would like your RE to look further into it by doing a hysteroscopy. You might have to go in for a consult appointment first and explain this to them and then they will probably schedule the procedure. Or you can try and explain to nurse and see if they will schedule it. But I don't think the RE would say no.

Hysteroscopy with former RE
Your old RE would definitely do it - it is not like they can turn you away. My friend had one done and she was not even a patient of the RE - she had a script from her Obgyn.

Now I would have to figure out which one to go to. My last dr left his practice.

Get a script from your obgyn and make the first available appointment.
If you want more info on doctors, I am sure the other ladies on here have recommendations.

Had a horrible experience with new obgyn. So I probably have to start over, as she could not complete the test due to the sono machine not properly working. I have had many saline sonos and never experienced this. I will call there Monday, but her recommendation was to leave it and take heavy doses of Ibuprofin every month for the heavy bleeding, when a hysteroscopy can resolve it, as she felt it was the fibroid. Since I am still trying on my own with DH, I want the fibroid removed.
