Hysteroscopy before IVF?
Ladies, is it normal to have a hysteroscopy before IVF? My RE doesn't think it is necessary but I am worried there is something going on with my lining causing the early miscarriages. Would water sonograms rule out fibroids or scar tissue? My water sonos always came out normal. Just so scared to start IVF and end up losing the babies as I am now on my own

I had one but it s before we decided ivf. It was still during iui
I think if u r having fertility issues and u never had one,u should have one regardless the course of action you are taking

I didnt have one. Based on the water sono I had no fibroids or issues with my lining. If you concerned then I would ask the dr for one. I didnt think that the uterus would be causing the miscarriages. Have you looked into PGD to make sure that the embryos are normal?

I had one after two failed IVF cycles - so it wasn't a first step but more of a last resort to see if any issues were missed.

I had one in September 2011. When I changed REs, they only had me get a saline sonogram.

Hysteroscopy before IVF?
I had one the beginning of August and 3 days later a D&C and polyp removed with heteroscopy, I start my cycle any day now just waiting on AF... I think you should be fine

Hysteroscopy before IVF?
My dr said I didn't need one. The saline soon didn't show any concerns. I thought I had to have one since everyone seemed to but I trust my dr that as of now it's not needed.

I just had one 3 weeks ago during my laproscopy procedure. We thought we were going to go straight to IVF, but after removing endo and a fibroid from my tube, my RE is encouraging us to try one or two cycles on our own before moving on to aggressive methods.
I have to add that DH is also going to be taking clomid during this period too. HTH!

I would push for it just to have a clean slate before ivf. Have you ever had an hsg? I am assuming yes so you are prob good with what i am about to say.I never had an hsg but had the hysteroscopy which showed a uterine septum that needed to be removed. They can cause multiple miscarriages.
