Hypothetical water breaking question
If you are at someone's house or riding in someone's car when your water breaks, what would you do about clean up? I ride with someone to work and I've been meaning to keep a towel in the car just in case. I can imagine it won't be good on her leather seats if it happens to break, but it got me thinking -- would you offer to pay a cleaning bill or just clean it yourself? Or would you always sit on a towel or do nothing??? Kinda random...

Re: Hypothetical water breaking question
my plan is to start sitting on a towel in my own car soon... so i would definitely do that in someone else's car if I was in it on a regular basis.
if that did happen, I would offer to have it professionally cleaned for them... interior detail of their car.
I am hoping to be in the majority tho.... most people whose water breaks it tends to happen at home. Ironically, my sister's broke in a restaurant with her first!

I just got some chucks to put under my mattress pad..if you are riding in someone elses car on regular basis, you may want to use one. Good news is the leather cleans up pretty easily, I'd be more worried about fabric.

Re: Hypothetical water breaking question
I can tell you when my water broke with my DD it was an INSANE gush of fluid and it never let up. Every time I moved I gushed. I was nervous about just getting to the hospital in my own car with all the water I was losing so I get your concern.
You know what worked AWESOME??........and my car stayed completely dry...............Kotex Maxi Pads. The HUGE ones, you know, with wings, extra long for heavy flow. Giant pads. The ones that feel like you're wearing a diaper. I had bought them for all the post partum bleeding but they worked AMAZING for absorbing all the fluid when my water broke too.
I would wear the giant maxi pad while riding with your friend and then you can always take it off when you get to work but it will at least prevent any type of mess in their car should your water break while driving.
I will say, generally if you're sitting you will find the baby acts like a plug and keeps your water from breaking. It's really is when you stand (like as you're getting out of the car) and the baby shifts that your water is more likely to break. I had gotten up in the middle of the night to let the dog out and as I was getting back into bed after walking just a few feet I felt a pop and a gush. Oh the fun!

Exactly this! I doubt you would want to start cleaning someone's car once your water breaks!!

Hypothetical water breaking question
When my water broke with DD it was gushing, I mean gushing!!! Like non stop I was drenched even my sneakers were soaked. I was by myself and had to drive to the hospital so I sat on my north face fleece and well that did nothing lol so I would prob just say you should end up giving your friend money to have her car professionally cleaned haha
