hypertension in early pregnancy

I have had controlled hypertension for 3 years and finally 9 weeks pregnant after struggling with IF all these years.

I am currently on aldomet and doctor just increased it. today bp was 128/90. It has progressively been going up past 3 weeks and this is the highest. I do see Dr. Kofinas who my GP has been in touch with.

Now I read that HBP in early pregnancy is linked to birth defects and it isn't the meds a woman takes.

Has anyone ever discussed this with their doctor? I am very nervous.

I have pregnancy-induced hypertension. It's only gotten worse as I go along. My OB has me taking BP readings at home and recording them. I am not on medication yet, but I will probably be when I hit my 3rd trimester. I am so worried because I can't keep my BP down. I will say that mine is higher than your reading. I've had 2 kids before and also had high BP. Both children before that were fine. I pray this time around it's not too bad either.
