hyland teething tablets?
Have any of you used them? I read all about their issues with varying amounts of Belladonna, having them recalled, then regulated, then put on the shelf again. The FDA regulates their production.
I guess I am trying to find out if you think they're safe. Still iffy......

Re: hyland teething tablets?
I was using them with my youngest DS but stopped after I heard all the negative things about them.
I know people think they work so good, but I really didn't see a difference.

Re: hyland teething tablets?
I use them and they work well for my daughter. I bought the other brand once without belladonna and it did nothing.

hyland teething tablets?
The things said about them make me nervous, till I read the FDA info posted about their approval and a minimal amount of belladonna etc. I wonder what the AAP says... going to go research them now

hyland teething tablets?
I had asked about them awhile ago on here. I googled it and was terrified when I heard they were recalled for causing seizures and deaths. I couldn't fathom giving them to my dd. I know that the formula was redone and I'm sure they are under intense scrutiny from the FDA since then. But still......

Re: hyland teething tablets?
I just want to point out that there have been many, many recalls of Johnson & Johnson (Tylenol & Motrin) products over the years which included metal and wood particles found in products, "musty smell" which was actually airborne chemical pesticide contamination, bacterial contamination, products containing too much acetaminophen (which causes liver damage), etc. Info
On top of that J & J employed the unethical tactic of "stealth recall" whereby they hired contractors to buy contaminated products off of shelves instead of issuing a formal recall.
Not exactly trustworthy as far as I am concerned.
It's tough, you can't really trust anything.

I tried them but to be honest it was one of those things I couldn't really tell if it was working or not

had them when AJ was younger and LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED them. She'd willingly take them and they worked.
I read into the drama and disregarded it as a scare tactic. I bought as much as I could before the recall. I didn't feed my kid the pills but one or two a day two - three time as a week mid day seemed no biggie to me.
if i had another child, I'd do the same.

Re: hyland teething tablets?
personally I'd be a bit gun shy to go with them since there are alternatives. We've had amazing luck with the orajel naturals line of teething tablets though we never tried the hylands so I couldn't compare the two.

Re: hyland teething tablets?
Good to know. I'm going to look for the Orajel ones. I'll also ask my Pediatrician for what they recommend...
