Hydrangea Question...
Hi Ladies,
I'm so annoyed, when DH was doing fall cleanup, he HACKED my hydrangea, down to the stubs. I was so upset, I was almost in tears.
Will it ever grow back? Should I just pull it now?

Re: Hydrangea Question...
I would see if it sprouts anything it may take a few years for it to come back to its original size. I did that to my parents and it had taken five years to recover.

Re: Hydrangea Question...
I think it depends on when you cut it, because my neighbor cuts hers down every year and they come back. I never cut mine, I am too afraid.

Absolutely, it will grow back!!!! My DH did the same thing, and I had one bloom last summer!!! I called the greenhouse, and was assured my babies would bloom again!!!! I love hydrangeas so much, I'm thinking of getting some more!!! Mary

Re: Hydrangea Question...
It should grow back more lush and healthier than ever, however don't expect many if any flowers this year.
Good Luck.

Re: Hydrangea Question...
Thanks everyone! You just saved my DH more silent treatment. I'll just miracle grow the heck out of it this spring and see what happens.
I just planted it last year but it was a piece my mom cut me and it was kinda big already. I planted it in April or so and it didn't flower, got tons of leaves-- UNTIL September and then I got some tiny flowers, hahaha. I called it "confused"
