hw?
Does anyones house hae hw as the heat? I see a house I may want to look at but noticed that - not sure of the pros/cons of it..tia! ( it is a old house)

are you talking about the cast iron hot water radiators?
That's what we have and I love it - the radiators can take up a significant amount of space, but it's really nice to be able to lay your shoes or a towel across the radiator to warm it up :)
Any type of furnace can heat the water for the pipes, ours is an oil furnace, but it could be natural gas, propane or electric as well.

My DH is an engineer who designs HVAC systems for a living. He does commercial consulting work -- but he says HW heat is the best you can get for a residence.
We have forced air - DH would have much preferred hot water!

My parents have it. They have an oil furnace with it.
We have the forced hot air and there is definitely a difference - the hot water heat isn't as dry and it doesn't create as much dust.
