HSG Coverage
Has anyone NOT been covered for an HSG? When I called my insurance company they said I am not covered because it falls under fertility treatment (and I work for the Diocese of Rockville Centre.) But then I recently heard that it is mandated by law that HSG be covered. I am thinking I should call again if this is the case.

Re: HSG Coverage
im not sure about the law but im sure you can ask your dr. to file it under a different code so that it is covered. i believe they do HSGs for reasons other than strictly infertility so hopefully your dr. can help you out.

Would I ask my RE to do that since she is sending me for the test or ask by OB?

Re: HSG Coverage
My insurance does not cover anything fertility-related (cheapos), but they did cover my HSG.
I was sent there by my gyn so I'm not sure if that makes a difference? Or if the diagnosis makes a difference (when I called my insurance she said "a diagnosis of infertility" would cause them not to pay for tests including bloodwork)?
I was sent for one bc we had been ttc for a while and it showed I have one blocked tube and they paid.
