How to Time Bottle for Airplane Landing
I know this might be a silly question, but when do you give a bottle to your DC for landing? I know that for take off its easy to tell because you just give it when the plane is actually taking off. But for landing do you give it when they make you put your seat backs up or when the captain tells to flight attendents to sit down??
I am just nervous that I will give DS the bottle too soon and he will finish it before we are even close to landing. It takes him about 10 minutes more or less to finish a bottle. TIA!!!

How to Time Bottle for Airplane Landing
How old is your DS?
When DS was young, the majority of the time, he was sleeping as the plane was landing so it wasn't an issue. The one time he was awake, I just had the bottle ready in case he needed it.

DS is 18 months. He usually goes to bed around 7 and our flight will be landing at 7:30 I just don't think he will be sleeping for landing. He is going to have his 3 cousins around and I am sure they will be keeping him busy. The flight home lands at 3 so he will be awake then. I just don't want the pressure to hurt his ears but not sure when the right time to give the bottle is.

you feel the plane starting to descend ... but neither of my kids had any issues....but i also used the binkie just in case...and it was all ok

You can also just use a binky if your DS uses one. My 15 month DS has been on a plane many times and we never have any issues...Good luck!

Don't be nervous! I am just a worrier in general! I hate to fly so I am finding lots of things to occupy my anxiety instead.
Thanks for all the responses. DS does take a binky so I will have that on hand as well and give the bottle when I feel the plane start to descend.

I was just asking because when my kids were under 1- they pretty much always slept on flights.
I'd have it ready just in case he needs it. He may be fine. I was nervous each time too and neither of my boys have had issues with their ears during take off or landing.

How to Time Bottle for Airplane Landing
For me, it always depended on how long the flight was. Most of the flights DD and I took were 1.5 hours, so I just fed her at takeoff and had the rest available for landing just in case. For her, the pacifier worked as well as the bottle, so if she wasn't hungry, she would just suck the paci.
Also, rather than go through the hassle of trying to make bottles on the plane or premake, I brought the 8 oz ready to feed bottles on with disposable nipples. That way if she started crying and the paci wasn't working, I could just twist the top, put the nipple on and let her go to town.
I was so intimidated to travel with her at first. It seemed like such an ordeal with all the liquids and baby gear. The best advice I can give is to leave three times earlier than you think you should. I'm normally like 45 minutes early for flights when I travel alone, but when flying with DD, out of 16 trips, there were only three flights where I wasn't running to the gate at final boarding.
