How to test ceiling tiles for asbestos?

One of my upstairs bedroom has glued small ceiling tiles (8x8) to the ceiling. They are yellow and dirty. I want to remove them but I am concerned with asbestos. Is there a way to test them myself to make sure it's safe to remove?

The link below will give you a good idea if the tile are asbestos. Generally if they were installed prior to the mid seventies they contain asbestos.
