How to lay tile
Has anyone done this and is it hard? We have a cement subfloor. Also, are there any videos that show you how to do it?

Re: How to lay tile
I've done it. It was fairly simple. You can probably just do a Google search for "how to lay floor tile" and find thousands of sites.
Bigger tiles mean less grout...
Figure more time than you estimate.
Try to have as few cuts as you can, and keep them as straight as you can (diagonal tiles mean cutting every edge tile). You can adjust the gap a bit between the tile if it will make them fit better. If a 1/16 gap leaves an extra inch against the wall, try a 1/8 inch gap, for example.
Work in manageable sections. Don't put the mastic on the entire floor and try to do it in one shot. Since you don't want to be on the tile while it's drying, try to do only a few rows at a time so you can reach, but not put all your weight on the new tile.

I agree with all of this....we just did our kitchen and it was on concrete.....make sure you level the floor first. you can get self leveling compound at HD or Lowes. if the tiles are level they can crack or lift.

Re: How to lay tile
Haven't attacked this project yet but I've watched a few videos on YouTube. Try just putting in "Lay tile floor" into the YouTube search box and you get over 7000 hits! Try the one from the Home Depot channel; they're usually pretty good.
