How to function with all day m/s?

How do you girls do it? I'm queasy all day long and throughout the night too. Today was the first day I actually got sick (although I just dry heaved)

I have three children to take care of- four bus runs between them, extracurricular activities, etc - and not much help around. I'm lucky that my dh gets off early some days, but I seriously don't know how I'm going to make it through the days when he works late. I end up laying on the couch, eating ice pops and letting my youngest dc watch tv or play with my phone all day!

Any suggestions? I never really had this with my other pregnancies. A little nausea here and there with #3 but it was quick to pass. This is literally all day Chat Icon

How to function with all day m/s?

Zofran was a llifesaver for me. I had all day sickness with throwing up pretty much all food and fluids. I was taking it until I was 27 weeks. I would not have been able to function without it.

I had it for 15 weeks bad and now every once in a while.

I vomited in front of my 2 year old so much that he starting pretending to do the same in his potty. Funny but sad. I tried to keep him out but he would get upset.

I tried prego pops they worked until I was done sucking on them. It should pass. If its unbearable call the dr.
Feel better!

How to function with all day m/s?

Sorry to hear that you're going through this!
I was sick up until last week (22 weeks), this week I'm doing much better.
But...I found that anything with lemon worked for me, even if it was a lemon itself, but lemon drops, boiled water with just lemon in it.
Nothing stayed down, even saltines.
Feel better!

I'm having a hard time too and it's def. no joyride with 2 jobs and 3 small kids (4.5, 3 and 14 months).
I do the best I can, throw up a few times a day and eat a lot of carbs, often.
It's not fun but have to hang on to it being only temporary.
I was very sick with my 3rd pregnancy too - it let up about 19-20 weeks. Hoping I don't have too much longer til some relief.
Hang in there!

I am right there with you, although I only have one LO (16 mo). I feel so bad for her cause I am so useless. I am like "Here Baby, you 'read' this book, while Mommy curls up on the floor"

I wish I could remember when the all day M/s ended with her cause I am counting down the days until I am out of my 1st trimester (which is sad cause I feel like I am wishing away the holidays) and I pray I feel better by then.

For me, sometimes sour stuff helps get rid of the nausea. Then I try to mix protein and carbs, but it is hard to force myself to eat cause I have horrible food aversions and sometimes it has the opposite effect and I feel worse. I took Zofran once. I was like a magic pill and I felt so good that day, but it caused awful constipation, so I felt worse than ever the next three days. Just can't win!

I have been sick my entire pregnancy... really bad through 19 weeks, eased a little, now it just depends on the day. 50% of the time its still pretty bad. Getting through a day of work can be complete torture, but I have had no choice and just have to do it.

B6 and Unisom is what has made it more tolerable and easier to tolerate. Iron however is now working against that.... trying to find a happy medium for the next 10 weeks.

Apples for some reason seem to help ease it up a little.... strange, I know. Iced tea also.

Thanks everyone! I guess I'll consider myself lucky that I'm not actually throwing up....yet. Today I forced myself to go out with my youngest, and believe it or not, chewing gum really helped. I think I'm going to have to stock up! Lol

Dr. just told me to start taking B6, Umison and Ginger Extract. I am finding this all day sickness to be impossible to deal with, especially with a young child to deal with.

I had the same experience. Morning sickness was almost debilitating. I was throwing up 24/7. Thank God the Zofran helped, even though the constipation is awful. But i'd rather deal with that than MS. I went from taking it 3 times every hours to just at night. If I don't take it at night, I have still gotten sick the next day.
