What kind are they? I used to throw my keds in the washing machine and let them air dry.

athletic/running kind (asics and nike)...you know, that meshy type material...I used to throw my sneakers like this in the machine for airdry, but I don't know...

How long have you had them? If the shoes are more then a year old and you are using them frequently for excersise, toss them. You don't want to get an injury from less then ideal shoes.
