How to bed rest?
This may be a stupid question- sorry if it is.  When they tell you to bed rest- do you have to lay facing up or can you lay on your side or stomach? I feel like such a dope right now... 
I asked the nurse if anything really showed that bed rest helps and she said absolutely, mentally... b/c if it doesn't work you don't want to say 'I should've done bed rest...'. TIA!

My husband put me on bedrest after my transfers! (My RE said I could go back to work). But DH made me stay home for 2-3 days. On the 3rd day he let me work from home!
Basically, I did not stay in bed all day, I would have gone crazy! We have a finished basement, there's a small fridge down there, so he made sure it was stocked up for me, I was to sit on the couch with my feet up (we have a very large ottoman) and was only allowed to get up and use the bathroom when needed. I was not allowed to come upstairs until it was time for bed that evening.
I just stayed off my feet as much as possible for a few days.
Oh, and I'm totally a stomach sleeper... this was fine.

I always kinda interrpeted it as just kinda taking it easy w/ my feet up, not too much walking etc....Don't know if I'm right about that, but I guess whatever I did worked for me

Lol- thanks ladies I feel like such a dope. We got a few movies in the mail so we're going to watch them. DH went to run some of my errands for me- I figure today and tomorrow I'll take it as easy as possible and we'll see what happens for Sunday. Thanks!

everyone is different but I did it take easy for at least 2 days
stay away from heavy lifting and household chores for awhile...

you lay in bed...in what ever comfortable position and rest. No movements.

We just watched a movie and other than that, i'm going to sit in the kitchen while DH cooks (more to tell him how to cook--I'm sick of take out). Then back to the couch. Tomorrow I'll take it easy, Sunday I'm going out to dinner with friends, but that's easy. We did all the house cleaning yesterday and he's doing laundry today.
I could not do strict bedrest. I hope I never have to...
