How sweet is this?
My mother's job just threw her a GRANDMA'S SHOWER.
She is the only secretary to a Senior Center and Meals on Wheels for her center. All of her co-workers chipped in and put out a huge lunch and bought her a Grandma Diaper Bag, a foldable tub, J&J baby shampoos & lotions, washcoths, towels, sleepers, toys, diaper supplies, and outfits etc ...
They just really made her feel special today and I am so grateful for them. I can hear her glowing over the phone, it is so cute!

When I see your post, I think that is very sweet.
However, I was invited to a "grandma shower" for the mother of my best friend... who lives in CA... and I didn't think that was so cute. I really just saw it as a way for her mother to get gifts for her to use with the grandchild. I don't live in California, I am pregnant, there is no way I was going.. I felt like I got invited for a present. I was bad and didn't even respond to the invite.
But that's really sweet about your mom and that they did it for her at work!!

I totally understand where you are coming from. I would think it is wierd too .. but my mom works for 6 social case workers in addition to the director of the senior center and the activities director and on top of that she is the administrator for the M.O.W. program for the area. Everyone and everything goes through her so I guess this is their way of repaying her for all that - especially since the Dept of Aging certainly doesn't take care of her paywise, LOL.

Awww..they threw one of those for my mom at her job. She is always so good about contributing to everything so they wanted to do something for her. They had a big party and gave her lots of great gifts.
The most wonderful thing she got was a "Grandmother Remembers" book. I cry every time I look at it. Its all about her hopes and dreams when she was a little girl, what she dreamt of becoming, her experience being a mom, etc.
