How soon should???
TY cards be mailed out....???
Just like everything else MIL is breathing down my neck to do my baby shower TY's...
I got them done this past weekend... but she started nagging me exactly one week to the day after my shower (which was 8/20)
I havent mailed them out yet...I think people understand..Im a little preoccupied being 8 months preg. and preparing for my little man.. but maybe Im wrong... The TY's will arrive to them before it hits that one month mark...
Am I clueless or something...how soon should they be mailed out?????

I would say definitley within a month at the latest for something like a baby shower, birthday type thing.
Weddings are the exception because a lot of people wait for their thank you pictures.

It took me 3 weeks to do mine...I just didn't have the $$ to go buy them.

I think by 1 month is fine. I did mine that same weekend and they were in the mail on monday, but that's because I didn't want to do like what I did with my wedding thank you's which I procrastinated forever.

For my bridal shower, I had them out about 9-10 days later. But, of course, I wasn't lugging around an 8 month old baby in my belly so I'm pretty sure there's some slack to be cut for a baby shower

For weddings the rule is SUPPOSED to be one year.
Guests have 1 year to give a wedding gift.
Wedding thank you cards are supposed to be sent out 1 month after the bride and groom return from the honeymoon. Other etiquette books say within 2-3 months of the wedding. I haven't seen one that said 1 year.
ets: My guess is that it's okay to send shower thank yous a month after the shower, but before the baby is born.
