How old was your DC when you stopped using a stroller?

I'm expecting DC #2, and DS just turned 3 yo. I wasn't sure whether it was worth it to purchase a double stroller. I find we are using the stroller for DS less and less often. The only times I truly need it are for the mall, airport (which is once a year if that), and for long walks, like the boardwalk. DS doesn't have the same tolerance for the stroller anymore. Like most toddlers his age, he would much rather be out and running.

But I know with 2 DC, it will be much more difficult to get a good grip on DS while handling an infant. I feel a double stroller would be necessary from a safety perspective.

But is it truly worth it? How do btdt moms do it?

I only have one DC, but he has been out of the stroller since he was a bit over 2.

If you are concerned, maybe a sit and stand would be a good option?

I would say before age 2 for my older one. She was 20 mos. when her sister was born and I opted for the Sit and Stand--which I didn't use too terribly much anyhow. I trained her from really young to hold on to her sister's stroller while walking.

My younger one will be 3 in May and I use a flimsy umbrella stroller each day to walk to her sister's school to pick her up. Occasionally, she'll walk, but in this freezing weather, I want to get there QUICKLY!!! Otherwise, no stroller.

ETA...when we went to Disney in November, they both went in strollers (age 2 and 4).

She started hating it around 22 months. And now she's pretty impossible when I had to use it.

As much as I would love a fancy double stroller I am not going to waste the money. I am going to get a sit and stand.
