How old was your DC when you put them on a schedule?

And what's the best way to do it? I was thinking of trying to get DD on a schedule when she hits the 2 month mark on 12/21. I will be going back to work about 3 weeks later and I thought it may be a good time to start.

Thoughts? Advice?

I started a bedtime routine at 2 months bottle, book, bed at around 7-730.

I started a nap routine at 3 months but she really just feel into it

I can tell you that we have a nighttime routine, eat and then bed at 8pm. She will either wake up between 2 and 3am or just sleep straight through. As for daytime, the only "routine" we have is her morning nap is the longest and it's usually around 9 or so...

We really try a schedule, but our work hours rotate. So many nights it's only one of us putting him to bed. He typically goes down around 10pm, which is perfect for us!! After we figured that out, we started lowering the lights around 9pm to get him into the mood.

DS has basically put us on a schedule...See where you are at with her feedings etc and tweak that to what fits into your life style...

DS suddenly decided at about 2 months that he was going to go to bed at 9pm. He is DONE at that time and wants to be put to bed. No fan fair involved just put him in his bed and let him go to sleep...Since that time he has been waking at 6am for his bottle..Everything else has kind of just fallen into place..

6am Bottle
9am Nap
11am Bottle
2pm Nap
3-4pm Bottle
6pm Cereal
8pm Bottle
9pm Bed

DD started to create her own schedule around 3 months. But it still varies here and there but she typically goes to bed around the same time now.

My dd just turned 2 months last week, and we have a nap schedule, she made it herself. She wakes up around 6:30-7:00 eats, napes at 7:30ish until about 11am, then eats, and goes for another nap around 1:30-2:00pm, eats and then last nap 4:00ish until 5-6 depends. and then goes down for bed about 8pm-9pm.

I went back to work last monday and the schedule only seems to work with me and DH, when my sis babysits the other days, she stays awake more.

Honestly? He put himself on a schedule when he was about 5 mts old... and he keeps getting more "scheduled" as he gets older - I followed his lead for the most part, and now its great - but there was no way he was on any schedule before then!!!

I started at about 3 months since I was back to work It didn't really take affect until about 7 months though (he adjusted his own schedule and I sort of let him!)- but it is great now DS basically puts himself to bed! I would start though get a pattern going the baby can get comfortable with.

At three months when I switched to faster flow nipples on the bottle, I was more able to control how much she ate and then started to schedule her.
