I didn't try any kind of cold medicine until his first real cold at 10 months. I don't think they really work anyway. I found alternating tylenol and motrin the best thing depending on the symptoms and then a cool mist humidifier and raising the mattress.

Sarah's never had any and she's 22 months.

Andy (6 months) developed a HORRIBLE cough yesterday and they put us on pedicare drops. He's already sounding better today.

I just gave Marron cold medicine this week, at 8 months. She got Dimetapp one day, and Triaminic (the orange -- decongestant and antihistamine) for 2 more days.

I gave Ava Tylenol Cold last week, I didn't even give her an entire dose, I gave her .4ml (instead of .8+.4), and that REALLY helped dry her up. It's just a decongestant, no cough medicine or anything.

thanks everybody! Ellie's been sick 3 times in the last 2 mos or so and it really disturbs her sleep so I figure it's worth trying something to help her sleep. There's no fever or anything else just congestion.

About 4 months old - we gave her Little Colds and it helped a LOT. We also gave her saline nose stray - which she hated but it helps a lot too.
