How old was your DC when they got their first bike?
DS has a tricycle but when did you get your DC their first 2wheeler w training wheels?

The summer before DD started kindergarten. And by the next summer she didn't need the training wheels.

DD#1 was 3. DD#2 is 2.5 and can easily ride her sisters bike with training wheels (it is one of the smaller ones that DD#1 is outgrowing- she is petite so it was the only one she could reach the pedals on).

On their 3rd birthday. And they got the 16" bike with training wheels. They skipped right over the smaller bikes.

I went online and found some rules of bike riding and went over them w/ DS. Don't cross street, wear a helmet, etc.
Then I found a Certificate of Completion for Bike Safety.

DD was 3. she never got the hang of a tricycle. she found it easier on a bicycle with training wheels.

DS got one a few months before his 3rd birthday. His birthday is in December and we wanted him to have some time to use the bike before the weather got too cold.
