How old do you start potty training?

I have no idea when it starts. I'm thinking 2.5?

I didnt go by how old DS was, just when he seemed ready, which was 2 months shy of his 3rd birthday. He just walked over to me one day and told me he didnt want to wear diapers anymore and that was it.

My oldest daughter took 3 days and 3 accidents to potty train at 27 months old. My youngest daughter took 6 days and a few accidents to train at 24 months old.

One of my sons tells me when he has poop. The other not so much. I will probably start the 1st in about a month with no pressure-they will be 2 Nov 24

I'm going to do what my mother, grandmother, grandmother did and went by. As soon as DS is walking, he's being introduced to a potty.

I'm not expecting miracles, if he gets it great, if not I put it away for a month and try again later.

I was potty trained at 10 months, after learning to walk.

We started with DD at 3. I'm going to try and start earlier with DS.

I started at 2 years 2 months and he trained in 3 days, I followed the 3 day potty training and went cold turkey no pullups, brought a potty everywhere and just sucked it up in public bathrooms...

we tried when she was about 27 months. she peed on her princess potty a few times, but nothing stuck.

so we waited. tried again in June, and she got it in like a week.

It's not about the age, it's all about when they are ready.

18 months
and for the baby (she is only a year) I'll wait for the signs but I am in no rush. I was in no rush with any of them; it was their cues that made me go for it.

I got him a potty around 18 months just so he could get used to it being around. He would sit on it and play on it. I didn't push potty training at all. Just a few weeks ago (28 months) he started asking on his own to do pee on the potty. Funny thing is he never used the little potty - every time he has gone on the potty its been on the big toilet bowl. He has peed more times than I can count and pooped twice so far. I have no plans on taking him out of diapers anytime soon though.

They say the avergage age for boys is 3years 1 month to be potty trained. Not sure about girls.

I tried just when Jack turned three. I thought he was ready - he wasn't. I had two weeks of straight up hell and then I threw in the towel. A month later he was showing signs of being ready again. One day he was fighting me and didn't want to put his diaper on - so we didn't, and never looked back. He was exactly 3 years 1 month now that I think about it

Liam will answer yes/no if you ask if he went "cake" in his pants (DH started this, but it works). He also loves sitting on the potty. I'm off a week in December and I may try. We'll see. He is 20 months now.

I started toying with the idea at 18 months...meaning...put the potty in the bathroom, started reading potty training books, asked him if he wanted to go to the potty. I would ask him if he wanted to go potty and he would tell me yes or no...i never pushed it.

22 months more consistent discussions and efforts...24 months...we have poop in the potty and on the floor!!!
