DD started doing that about 2 weeks ago.....and she is 6.5 months old.
She is still too lazy to look for it at night though.

DS is 5 months old and has recently been able to put it back in on occasion. I should add that he almost always has a paci attached to his bib - - so it's easy for him to find and it doesn't fall. He often plays with the cord that it's attached to.

here's a trick, instead of giving it them back in mouth, give it them in the hand
if they still don't get it, guide their had near the mouth, tickle with paci but don't put in
play like this during the day, don't bother doing this during sleep time they will not be up for it

He does it sometimes, started when he was 6 mo... Depends on the grip he gets on it.
