how often do you take your infants out during cold weather?

Not when you have to run errands but to just take a walk? Id like to take ds for walks but I wonder if its toi cold.

My 5mo goes to daycare so she's out of the house for a 15 minute walk 2x a day during the week.

I honestly think it is actually a good thing to get him out for a walk once a day (as long as the weather is not insane!) Just bundle him up really well and definitely a hat! Do you have a bundle me for his stroller? DD is really warm in her bundle me and a blanket.

I was told by a nurse that if it's over 40 degrees they can be outside - bundled up of course!

I was wondering the same thing. I have been loving the weather until this week bc I would take DS for walks! The thought of being stuck inside all winter is making me nervous! I'm a SAHM so if I dont go out for walks I really don't go anywhere.

I took my premie twins out all last winter for walks often!!! Just make sure you bundle them up.

Above 40 degrees is my rule for a baby. It's harder now with two b/c I really want older DD to burn off some energy at the park (regardless of temp) so I will really bundle DD2 and go for a short while.

We have a bundle me and it keeps DD nice and toasty!

I take my younger dd (5 months) out everyday almost. My 2 year old needs to burn off her energy running outdoors. I just bundle my little one up. If we are going to the park or on a walk I put her in a light weight bunting, a hat and in the bundle me on her carseat She is always toasty when I talk her out. When it goes below 32 I'll stay in much more.

My DD was born in Nov. we always took her out for walks last winter as long as it was above 40. Put her in the infant seat with sweatshirt, hat, light blanket and bundle. She would be plenty warm and loves walks.

As long as I could tolerate the cold we went for a walk. The baby was always well bundled up. Also if there is any breeze you put the rain cover over the stroller to block the breeze

Great thread! I thought about taking DD for a walk this week but then thought "omg am i a horrible mother for even thinking that??!?!?!" Good to know I'm not & that we CAN still go for walks!

We don't go for walks now b/c I'm a FTWM, so she's only out to go to and from the car when being dropped off at daycare. On the weekends, she's out for errands and things, but it has been awhile since we've just gone for a walk! She stays so toasty in her car seat with a blanket, hat, and car seat cover that I would take her if it's above freezing.

DS was born in october. i think by 2 or 3 weeks old i had him out all bundled in his bunting suits for walks. I was home on leave with no car..so I was going nuts being in the house and as long as it was like 42-45 degrees and sunny, I was out for 15-20 min walks.
