How much weight did your DC gain between appts within 1st year?
My DS went for his 10m checkup today and has only gained 1lb since his 8m appt... he is now only 20lbs.
His ped says that he's right on track and in the 50th percentile, but I'm just curious how much other babies gain between appts. I know that he is more active now, but when we were going monthly, he was gaining 1-2lbs/month.

DD only gained 1 to 2 pounds every 2 months. She just hit 20lbs and shes 11 months.

Emerson was gaining on average 1lb/month
Once she hit 12m her weight gained slowed down drastically. She's 20m and only 22lbs
Peyton is a monster and at 6m weighs almost 17lbs already. She gains about 1.5-2lb a month

Em barely gained a pound from 8-10 months. She now weighs just about 21lbs

Oh, so he seems to be right on target then. For some reason, I thought they would gain more than that!! I have family members/friends whose babies weighed MUCH more than he does at this age.

I dont think my DS is the norm.
He was born at 9lbs 14oz...he was 16lbs at 10 weeks...he was approx 22lbs at 5+months.
At 1year he was 30lbs. His little brother is following in his footsteps.
I think the rule of thumb on average is to double their birth weight in 6 months and tripe it in 1year.

DD gained 2lbs a month for the first 4 and then it was closer to a 1lb a month. She only gained 2 from 6-9 months. She's definitely slowing down now, but she's still in the 90th percentile.

Weight gain slows as they get older, because they're mobile and burning calories. L only gained 1.5 pounds between 6 and 9 month checkups. (This shocked me, because you should see this girl eat...). Sounds like A is doing fine!

DD gained 1lb 3oz from 7months until 12months. She dropped drastically and ped was almost concerned but at her 15months she gained 1.5lbs so he's no longer concerned.
She was 9lbs at birth and doubled her weight at 12months. She went from 95%ile at birth to 10%ile at 1year.

Ohwow... I've never heard this before, but it seems to be holding true for my DS. I figure that in the next 2 months, he will gain 1-2lbs and that will make him slightly less than 3x his birth weight.

My DD tripled her birth weight at 2! She was born 8lb 4oz...was 18lb6oz at 9 months old...this is where she slowed down a lot-1 year-19lb and change, 15 mos 20lb and change, 18 months 21lb 1oz and at 2year visit 24lbs.
