How much $$ to install a skylight?

How much $$ to install a skylight?
Does anyone have an idea of how much it costs? We just redid our entire main floor & bathroom and the only thing I regret is that we didnt put a skylight in the kitchen. I dont even dare discuss it with DH until I know an appx cost. TIA

we've only gotten 1 estimate so far and we were blown away.
2 skylights in our attic (that is not sheet rocked or anything) $3800!
skylights are only a couple of hundrred bucks each!!! DH flipped.
