How much time
Are you planning on taking when the baby is born? My job allows us to take up to 6 months although only 6-8 weeks are paid. How much time is everyone planning on taking off?

Re: How much time
I have been off on a leave from my ob for like a year. I am planning on leaving flying and starting a new job approx6-8 weeks after Ds is born. Although, I will be working 4 hrs a day 5 days a week.

Re: How much time
3 weeks paid Then I can take any vaca/sick time
Not sure how STD works, but I can take that too. I think that is paid by the company, but I have to double check. I think its 6-10 weeks depending on vag birth or csection.
(shhh then I plan on finding a new job while on leave).
I plan on taking 12 weeks.

Re: How much time
6-8 weeks STD (depending on type of delivery)
Taking my vacation time after that... probably 3 weeks.
Then the rest of the time up to 12 weeks total will be unpaid. I am thinking I will have either 1-3 weeks of unpaid time, the rest will be paid.
3 months total... definitely not enough time, but there are bills to pay!

Re: How much time
I am taking 12 weeks and only 6 of them will be paid. If I had a choice I'd take the entire second semester off...but the NYCDOE might not be so understanding.

Re: How much time
I am taking at least one year off from work. 6 of the weeks will be paid. The NYCDOE allows you to take up to 4 years off without pay.

Re: How much time
6 weeks - paid 4 weeks - vacation (2 weeks from this year, and 2 weeks from next) 4 weeks - unpaid
Thus, a total of 14 weeks.

Re: How much time
Assuming a vaginal birth - 18 weeks (6 weeks paid).
Hopefully, I won't have to take any (maybe just a few days to a week) before the baby is born.
