How much stimulation for a 6 week old?
When DD is awake I don't know how much to do with her. But then I feel guilty if I don't do a lot with her! Ughhh.
She seems to get overtired and overstimulated easily...
What do/did you do with your 6 week old while they were awake?
TIA

With DD1 I would STARE at her in amazement for hours! I'd sing to her, read books, just cuddle.
With DD2...she would just watch me chase DD1! lol.

Honestly, I didn't do much with her at that age. I would just put her in her bouncer, swing or pack n play and just let her lounge.

Re: How much stimulation for a 6 week old?
i remember this feeling - like I wasn't doing enough totally normal.
tummy time (at 6 weeks, it only lasts a few minutes) but try it a few times a day
can she sit in a bumbo?
sing to her, talk to her
you can try to "play" with toys but that only goes so far.
she can lay on her back and look at the activity mats with toys that hang overhead!

Re: How much stimulation for a 6 week old?
Do tummy time as often as humanly possible (I didn't).
Other than that - I would just play music with DD and sing along. At 6 months she absolutely LOVES music.
My fave albums are Baby Einstein: Sing and Play (#1 FAVE) and Kenny Loggins Return to Pooh Corner (this is our car CD).
When she was a wee one I loved lullaby CDs - the more soothing ones.
She also likes Peter, Paul and Mary and Sinatra.

I hated feeling like I was not doing anything that interested him. Now, at 8 months, I realize I had it easy. He has always loved music so I would put on soft music for him and really just cuddle and do tummy time.

She looks like a sad, sad, flailing chicken when she does tummy time at this age....
I feel bad for her.

How much stimulation for a 6 week old?
DD loved the playmat when she was on her back and could stare at the musical light up star at the top. She eventually started batting at the toys. I did little things that I read in my parenting book like showing her a toy and slowly moving it up and down or side to side so she could practice tracking. I'd show her pictures of faces in magazines or just walk her around the house and show her things. Not much and nothing held her interest long at all but their attention span grows all the time.

Yeah, Joseph looked at me for a while on the mat like I was the devil for making him do it.

Re: How much stimulation for a 6 week old?
DS started becoming more interested in his bouncy seat (with hanging toys) around this time. And his activity mat. We also look in the mirror, go for walks, and he started becoming interested in rattles too.
