How much milk does your toddler drink?

DD is 22 months and I am weaning her from nursing and have no idea how much milk she is supposed to actually be having at this point? And do you give your DC the sippy cup at meals, or at snack time or sporadically throughout the day??

Oh and how much water do they drink???

when my son was 24 months, (2years), his doc said he should be drinking 24 ounces of milk. i would give it to him at breakfast and snack time, then at dinner. he never drank much water at that age. i could even say. and there are no stupid questions when it comes to your dc.

My ped (they're all different!) says 16-20 oz and that's just about what DS gets (he's 20 months).

Sarah LOVES milk and I didn't realize we should be limiting it. We were giving her about 40 oz. a day and at her 2 year visit the ped. said we have to limit it to 16 oz. It's really hard since she asks for it all day long. She gets 4 4 oz. cups a day.

She also drinks between 8 & 16 oz. of water.

im not sure- im still nursing DD (shes 10.5 months), but TOTALLY looking forward to giving her milk ASSAP! lol...i heard that theya re supposed to get 3 cups of milk a day, and "they" say to measure it out every morning and hopefully by the end of the day its gone....

My son is 18 months and drinks about 18-20 oz a day and my ped said to keep him under 24oz a day and the less the better.

Usually has one bottle about an hour after breakfast, another about an hour after lunch and one right before bed after bathtime.

He drinks water constantly throughout the day so I can't really pinpoint the amt, but maybe 2 or 3 sippy cup fulls.

Nate is 23 months and he drinks about 16-24 oz a day.

DD is 14mths and nurses morning and evening with some night nursing thrown in so that mommy wont have a full nights sleep yet during the day she gets the sippy usually mid morning, then for lunch and usually again around 5pm. I really dont know how much she is getting as I dont measure it..my ped said about 10oz was enough seen as she is BF too.

She drinks water too.

DD is almost 14 months and drinks between 12 and 18 oz/day.

I remember my ped saying if they are eating well that the milk can go as low as 10-12 oz in a day.

Around 2, my son was drinking 2 sippy cups of milk - morning and night - usually around 7-8 oz each. Somedays, he would ask for more either in the morning or in the day. He is a little over 2 and lately he doesn't want the night milk and only drinks a few ox 2-4 maybe.

As for water - I have no clue how much he drinks but I offer that with lunch and breakfast and throughout the day at least - I would say at least 1-2 sippy cups a day. somedays more, somedays less.

Cameron drinks three 8oz cups a day...well, actually, thats what I GIVE her - some days she doesn't always finish them but on other days she asks for more.

As for water, I just give her that whenever its not meal time or we are going to the park or something like that. So maybe two cups of water a day?

I'm sure its hard to know how much since you've only been nursing but I would bet that Sidney will let you know if she's thirsty too.

Noah has 3 oz sippies a day when we are home, he does have a cup of milk in the afternoon at nursery also! Sometimes he drinks all of it, sometimes he don't!

Between 24-32 oz a day...more days 24 oz. and he's 22 months.

So I guess right now I will aim for 16-18 ounces or so since I still nurse her in the morning. (Will be cutting out the bedtime nursing this weak )
