How much Milk does your 1 Year Old Drink
How much milk does your 1year old take? Our Ped said DD should be no more than 24oz of milk a day. DD was drinking about 20oz a day with the nanny - not including the 3 times I was nursing.
I'm working on transitioning to whole milk (while still BF in the AM and PM) but wanted to check to see if other Peds said the same thing about the max milk intake.

yep, we were told no more than 24oz as well and my DD probably has around 20oz give or take throughout the day.

Yes. Milk can inhibit the absorption of iron. Also milk is not formula. Milk is really just for calcium.

At the moment 26 ozs. Have to cut that down. We just transitioned her from formula so its about 18ozs of milk and 8 ozs of formula.

No idea. I don't track it.
Sometimes he guzzles a sippy cup at a meal, sometimes he sips. He's been off bottles since 11 months so it's harder to track actual amounts, I just pour some in a sippy and give it to him. 
ETA - My ped never gave specifics as to how much per day.

Ok thanks everyone. This max milk intake is stressinge out. If DD had her way she would guzzle milk all day. I'm trying to limit her to 13-14oz during the day allowing the extra oz to be when I nurse her in the morning and evenings.

Milk is not just for calcium. Milk also has Vitamin D, protein and healthy fats. Until 2 years of age, whole milk is especially important for a baby's brain and CNS development, among other things.
DS is 15 months old and has around 20 oz a day.

she only drinks 1 8oz bottle most of the time... on occasion she will have another 2-4 oz though out the day... she mostly drinks water or gatorade

we offer 21oz
7oz am bottle
7oz mid day sippy
7oz bottle before bed
She drinks anywhere from 15-21oz daily

we offer 24 oz a day... we cut it back from 26. He LOVES his milk.
He can/does drink it all half the time, but has days when he drinks maybe only 20oz.
