I have been asking around and standard seems to be 1-2 weeks pay... we are doing 1 week because she has almost 2 full weeks off during the month because of how we took our vacations this year.

We have a PT one too (3 days a week) and will be doing 1 week's pay. I may get her a small gift to go along with it, but I'm not sure yet.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but where do you ladies find your PT sitters/nannies?
We have one, but I think we hit the jackpot with her -- I know several people who are looking for someone and are having a lot of trouble.

Our first one was from sittercity.com but she did not work out. She just wasn't the right fit for us.
Our current one was recommended by our neighbor.

Ask around the local school playground. There are usually SAHM's who are looking to babysit in their homes.

1st year, she was with me for a couple of months and I gave her $100. She worked part time. After that, it was one week's salary plus a generous gift from the kids.
