Re: how much $$ for appliances?
What I learned very very quickly is that it can totally be a huge range for kitchen appliances...a lot of companies do the package deals now that seem to be a really good deal! We opted for higher end appliances and it cost us a pretty penny, but in our older house we did a package and it wasn't bad at all!!! As for washer and dryer, we're looking into this now so I can't help you on that

It depends on what you buy. My parents just bought all new, high end stuff. The stove alone was $7000. You can get good deals on groups when you hit lowes or HD.

Re: how much $$ for appliances?
We just spent $1,400 on a front loading washer and dryer (Maytag with steam on sale for 1/2 off)- including all of the hook up connections and delivery.
I'm not sure about stainless but, when we replaced our fridge, dishwasher and oven, we paid about $2k (for white appliances on the low end of the price scale but, good quality).
Sometimes you can do very well by going to a small appliance store too as opposed to a big chain. We got our washer/dryer at PC Richards (they were having a major sale) but, everything else we bought from a local store.

Re: how much $$ for appliances?
We bought all new appliances and washer/dryer when we moved in our house last year. it was just over 4K. But we got an amazign deal cause we shopped on black friday. Our W/D were 1/2 off (whirlpool with steam) Otherwise we would have spent over 5k. We got middle of the raod appliances (stainless) but the W/D was a bit of an upgrade since it was so cheap.

Re: how much $$ for appliances?
We went to Jays in Levittown - This is what we got
Samsung Stainless steel french door frig with water and ice on door
Samsung over the range micro
Samsung smooth top electric convection stove
Samsung Dishwasher
All stainless steel - We paid $4400 and are financing them interest free for a year.
Our washer and dryer we got from Jays also a few years back. We got the Whirpool Duet Series. We paid $770 for the pair. They were running a sale where you pay for both and then get 1 of them back in rebates.

Re: how much $$ for appliances?
We spent around $1500 at PC Richard for GE Stainless Steel frig, microwave, dishwasher and stove. They were having a sale that if you buy three, you get the microwave for free. And there were $500 in GE rebates and $75 in LIPA rebates.

We are currently shopping for these too and Sears is offering 25% off Kenmore appliances. The ones we picked/ Fridge, stove, mirco and dw (NIC W&D) totaled $2,650 with the discount.
The are also offering free removal and delivery.

Re: how much $$ for appliances?
In our first home we got all SS appliances and they cost us a little over 5K (gas range, microwave, dishwasher and fridge) a lot of that cost was the fridge tho bc we did LG french doors and it was a HUGE one. All the other appliances were GE profile.
In our current home the appliance were all there already (brand new SS) so I am not sure what the cost was but we had to replace our stove at it cost about 1100. HTH

Re: how much $$ for appliances?
Set a budget for yourself.
All total we spent about 6 or 7K. You can do it for a lot less, or a lot more, depending on what your needs are.
