Re: How much did you spend on entertainment?
Last year, we got 45 minutes for $200. She sang, dance and did a puppet show.
This year, we are spending $400 plus $25 travel fee for 1 hour. He is a high profile entertainer though. He can handle an audience of a hundred.
Both entertainers have done shows at the children's museum, which is how we heard about them.
I also got quoted $150 for a Music Together teacher to come to our home for an hour. I also got quoted $250-350 for 1 hour of a balloon artist's time.
I think your $250 is quote is decent.

Re: How much did you spend on entertainment?
I just spent $200 for one hour for Nick the Balloonatic (best balloon twisting I've ever seen) and another $150 on Facepainting (it was less for one hour but I needed her for longer so I fed her a meal, dessert and gave her extra money). The facepainting was fantastic and it was with fantasiafaces.com. Highly recommend both vendors.
ETA: Last year I hired "Party with Marty and Iris" for balloon twisting, facepainting and a magic show for one hour for $375. It was just okay but they were very nice and would also recommend them.
