How much cereal?
When you first started giving your baby cereal, how much did you feed them and then how much formula afterwards?
I took a break from the spoon feeding I had started when my ped recommended because Jake just didn't seem ready. It was the right thing to do. I tried it again today and he totally "got" it!!
So now I'm wondering, since of course not all of the cereal makes it down, how much does he actually need to swallow so that he's eating enough? The ped told me to mix 1 tbl of cereal with 3 tbl of formula - but is he supposed to eat all of that? It seems like alot.

Re: How much cereal?
I'm wondering the same thing.
My ped. wanted us to start cereal this month to get Kevin used to eating off the spoon so next month we can start veggies.
I usually just give him 4 - 5 baby spoonfuls of cereal just for practice. All of his calories / nutriets are still coming from the formula, not from the cereal.

Re: How much cereal?
My ped told me to start with 1 tablespoon of cereal and let her eat what she wants. She would close her mouth, push my hand away, start looking away, etc. to let me know she was done.
Once she started finishing that, I increased it to 1.5 tbs, 2 tbs, etc.
Good luck!
