How much at contract?
I am confused, did you put your entire down payment down at contract or just a portion, with the remaining at closing? In our offer we said the entire 15% but now I am nervous. This whole house buying thing has got me so nervous

you put down only part at contract and the rest at closing.
if the contract falls through because you have to back out, you don't want the seller to keep your money (although it is very difficult for that to happen)

we put 10,000. try to put the least ampunt you can at closing because you lose this amount if you back out for any other reason than not getting approved for a mortgage.

the minimum any attorney will accept these days is 5% of the sale price at contract signing. the balance you can give at closing.

We only put 10 because that is all we had since we need our house to sell but I am glad it is so low. Our purchase is contignet on the sale our home and if we backed out then they would keep half and I rather loose $5k then $50K.

We put down 5% of the purchase price which is what we agreed to when we put in our offer.

We had to put 10% down or we weren't allowed to buy it... So frustratin when you find this out two days before you sign the contracts  so I have no money this week!
