How much...

were your out of pocket expenses for IVF?
My insurance covers 75%, 25% are our responsibility and then hospital fees and embryo storage will bring us up to $6,500.

Re: How much...

I had a "flat" $5K covered.

I paid $2K out of flex-spending (a good way to do it tax-free), and about another $2K out of DH's medical spending account.

Total $4K including embryo storage. No ICSI.

I'm not counting the $$ for meds (which the copays were a few hundred dollars).

Re: How much...

Dh and I are doing IVF right now... We received the DOH grant but our co-pay was still 3630 and we still have to pay for our share of the med co-pays. Why do you have to pay hospital? Does your re not have a facility that they do it in? I am with LI-IVF and my procedures will be done in Melville.

Re: How much...

My plan did not cover anything. The meds were donated by a friend who had gone through this before (thank God for that!) I paid $100 co-pay for each RE visit, which was about $100 throughout the process, and $5,000 for the IVF. I also had a lot of OOP expenses for the 2 surgeries required to get me to the point of being able to do IVF.

Re: How much...

It's Kofinas Fertility Center, which is located at New York Methodist Hospital. I guess it's done in the hospital and not the clinic itself.

What did you know to receive a DOH grant? I am going to look into it. I knew this would be expensive, but just didn't realize how expensive it could all get, especially if there are multiple attempts.

I give so much credit to the women who have gone through this time and time again and pick themselves up and find the stregth to keep going, financially, emotionally, physically.
