How many times am I going to tell myself

"try it naturally one more time" before I get the hint...it ain't happening!! Dh, get a grip...we have issues...or rather, the "spermies" have issues. Why don't you just admit it and let us move on!!

I guess I'm just so afraid of the expense and of getting my hopes up too high. DH doesn't undertand. He says wait a year, then we'll go on to "Plan B" (btw..I hate it when he says that). I don't want to wait, and he doesn't get it. Even worse, the dr. told him that IVF and IUI only have a 30% success rate anyway, so that didn't help my case. Now DH feels that we're already set up to fail.

I just needed to get that out...vent over.

It's a really really hard decision.

DH and I had to have many long heart to heart discussions before we moved to IVF.

When it came down to it, he was mostly scared of the effects the procedures could have on me and that's what was holding him back.

You have to both be comfortable, but there definitely needs to be some gentle prodding every now and then.

Re: How many times am I going to tell myself

I'm sorry it's not easy...

In the past my DH would follow my lead, we would try some procedures (all BFNs) so then I would want the time to hold off for a while (for emotional, financial, physical reasons)

I think the best thing is set some time limits then compromise - "Let's try for 2 more months, then we'll do X"

Good luck!!!

Re: How many times am I going to tell myself

You know, I do the same thing. Just one more try naturally, it has to happen.

That's why I decided to go to an RE next Tuesday. I'm really worried about what I'm going to hear. I'm sure it'll be "you need to lose weight" and "you need to quit smoking" but I'm afraid that maybe I'm not ovulating. Maybe all this time when I thought I was, I'm not. Who knows? I do know that I want a baby more than anything in the world, and if you feel the same way I do I think you'll make the choice of doing whatever it takes to do it. Us women are strong.

I have been there too, now I am on the other end. I will try IVF one more time.

Its hard to make the crossover, but its harder to go back.

Good luck to youChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
