How many strollers do you plan to get?

I've been a stroller stalker lately - checking out every stroller that walks by me.

Originally I was planning to just get the Bugaboo Cameleon but now I'm beginning to think it's a bit bulky and hard to fold.

In Manhattan, it seems like everyone just has a Bugaboo.

In Long Island, I see a lot of snap and go and umbrella strollers at the mall. Are these more convenient in the suburbs?

I'm most likely getting the Quinny, and then a light weight Maclaren stroller.

Re: How many strollers do you plan to get?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a Bugaboo .......
I REALLY don't see myself trapsing through the mall on a regular basis with a stroller, I'm going to be using it for walks and outdoor parties/activities - that kind of thing - I'll be working in the city all day so it's not like I'll be using it on a daily basis anyway -

I think if I were a SAHM and running around all day in and out of the car w/ a baby, I'd probably get something lighter -

We're only going to use the snap-n-go in the beginning, and then get one other stroller.
You see more snap-n-go's on LI than the city because in the city people aren't driving places in cars, so they don't really have a need for an infant seat.

the cameleon is not bulky at all IMO, and probably the easiest stroller to fold, besides for taking the seat off which ppl get annoyed iwth if if theyd on't have the space...but put it this way , we were in the store for 4 hours, testing every stroller out there, and the cameleon by far was the lightest and easiest to fold!!!!!

Re: How many strollers do you plan to get?

BTDT Mom- I live in a suburb in LA. I have a snap and go(awesome when she was in the infant car seat), City Jogger (smoothest ride ever), and a really nice reclining, LONG HANDLED, umbrella stroller by Baby Trend that I picked up at a consignment store for $19.

That has worked great for me. I plan on adding the Step 2 double stroller that converts into a sit and stand for this baby.

IF you do get an umbrella stroller, make sure it has long handles. I didn't realize that when I bought mine but my taller friends love my umbrella stroller since the handles to push are so long.

I got 3 strollers: the Snugride stroller frame to use at the beginning with the infant car seat, the Peg Perego Pliko P3 to use when the baby outgrows the infant carrier and for walks around the neighborhood, and the Maclaren Quest Sport to use more for quick trips and for when the baby is a toddler.

I agree as well. We are getting the Chameleon and that is it. I only wanted 1 stroller and a good one at that. If you have a good sales person demonstrate it and you try folding it and putting it together a few times it really is quite easy.

2-- we are getting the Cameleon, and also are getting the attachment for the car seat to use it as a "snap and go" type stroller.

Then we are also getting an umbrella stroller. I think we registered for the Maclaren Quest. If no one buys this for us-- we probably won't rush to buy it ourselves. We'll need to see how the Bug goes for multi-purposes.

I think we may just get one--the Baby Jogger City Mini. It has a bassinet attachment and car seat adapter that you can order separately, so it can work from newborn on.

We are in the city, and thought about the bugaboo at first, but I think they will be too difficult on subways. We were also looking at the Peg perego skate, and opted against it for the same reason.

We may also get the Peg Perego Aria, but that's really just because FH likes it and thinks it is more compact than the baby jogger. I'd be happy with just the baby jogger.

me too. I liked the advice in Baby Bargains to wait until the baby is here to get more strollers when I have an idea of what I'll need at that point.

Re: How many strollers do you plan to get?

with DD#1 i have 3, but i got them over time as needed. once she was born i used the stroller frame with car seat. once she outgrew that i bought a maclaren quest. once i realized the quest was not going to cut it for neighborhood walks, i got an instep safari jogger.

it really depends on your lifestyle. in the burbs these 3 were perfect for me, i would not make the same choices if i lived in the city. the jogger is ginormous and takes up the entire trunk of the car so we don't take it anywhere unless absolutely required (beach, camping, etc.) it just sits unfolded in the house where we can easily get it. the quest has a home permanently in the trunk of our car. i used it for malls/shopping and/or quick errands (now i barely touch it since DD likes carts and to walk).

now i have to figure out what i am going to do with DD#2. as of now i'm planning to get a sit n stand but will hold off for now and play it by ear...
