Do you take your kids to the circus? Plays? I saw that the Big Apple Circus was coming near us and I went to look up tickets. It is $80 per person. I feel that is insane. Is that really the going rate?

We took DD to the Wiggles and that was $55 a ticket at Westbury Music fair (or whatever it's called) and we thought that was insane..especially considering she was only a little over a year (paid full price) but they really captivate her and she liked it...I think we have to be super selective because it's a fortune!

We or their grandparents go to several plays a year. But we go to things like velveteen rabbit, peter and the wolf, going on a bear hunt, etc. They are about $20 a ticket. We do disney on ice or the circus but wait for things like $15 kids seats or get 50% higher priced seats.

I like to take my son to shows/activities whenever possible! In the past 12 months we took him to Monster Jam, Disney on Ice, Cole Brother's Circus, & The Ringling Brother's Circus.

We took DS to the Northport theater around Christmas for a play. Tickets were $15 (I think).

I take DS to a bunch of plays. I actually started a Play Bill book for him. Staples has 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 binders ($6) and the staples sheet protectors 25 for $4.
I got him the binder with the clear cover, I found a playbill template and cut a small title for each play and paste it on the front.

Because of the cost - very little. If I can get a special rate I'll take him to something.
We haven't done any plays yet, I felt he was too young but may start with the local kiddie ones in the near future.
We've done Disney on Ice, Sesame Street Live and Monster Jam - Disney and Sesame were $10/pp and Monster Jam was $30/pp.
I just can't justify $75 per ticket for a 3yo...no matter what the show is.
